UVS Runs in the Race for the Cure – October 1, 2016

Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 5K for the second year in a row, veterinarians, staff and family members of UVS participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Albany.  Some UVS team members wore festive pink hats, wigs and leg-warmers (way to get into the spirit Dr. Todd Bishop!)

Girl Scouts Tour UVS and Learn About Veterinary RehabilitationGirl Scouts Tour UVS and learn about veterinary rehabilitation  October 5th

A group of Girl Scouts from the Boght Hills and Latham Ridge Elementary School Troop and their leader took a tour of the UVS hospital. Their visit with Dr. Laura Perez of the UVS Rehabilitation Department included a demonstration of rehabilitation therapies that pets sometimes undergo following surgery or in support of chronic conditions.    Dr. Perez’s dog, “Ripley” was a star of the demonstration, as she helped to demonstrate exercises that are often prescribed for patients.

The UVS visit and tour helped the scouts earn their Pet Care badges.
