Upstate Veterinary Specialties (UVS) continues to support the greater Albany community by donating FIDO Bag™ companion animal fire oxygen rescue kits to area fire departments. On April 14, 2016 UVS delivered FIDO Bag™ kits to the Chiefs of the Northside Fire District/F.B. Peck Hose Company and Latham Volunteer Fire Department.
Fire Department Donation Campaign
UVS began its campaign to provide fire rescue kits for animals with donations to the Loudonville and Saratoga Springs Fire Departments in 2015. Now that the new building construction and relocation to its new 24/7 hospital at 152 Sparrowbush Road in Latham is complete, UVS is again able to provide more community outreach.
Community Outreach
The goal is to donate these rescue kits to local fire departments regularly throughout the year. UVS owner and veterinary cardiologist Dr. Aaron Wey, the other UVS veterinarians and staff are committed to supporting animal health, recognizing that emergencies such as house fires impact people and their pets in our community.
