Upstate Veterinary Specialties, PLLC is a growing, privately-owned specialty and emergency practice located in upstate New York.  As a privately owned hospital, the practice owners are active clinicians who take a team approach to manage the hospital.  They make themselves accessible to the staff and are dedicated to making UVS the ideal veterinary practice for employees.

The Ophthalmologist would join our current Ophthalmology team as well as board-certified specialists in:

  • Cardiology
  • Critical Care
  • Internal Medicine
  • Neurology
  • Oncology
  • Radiology
  • Rehabilitation
  • Surgery

Our clinicians are supported by highly educated licensed veterinary technicians, including one VTS (cardiology), assistants, client relations specialists, and administrative staff.

Our facility

This year we expanded our custom-built hospital, adding another 16,000 square feet, to our current 24,000 square foot facility which has enhanced our ability to provide excellent care while maintaining a comfortable work environment for all services.

Ophthalmology has a dedicated and spacious surgical suite with Zeiss Operating Scope, Alexos Phaco Unit and Iridex DioVet Laser along with designated procedure spaces and exam rooms equipped with hydraulic lift tables, RETIport ERG and Accutome Ultrasound. The Ophthalmologist will be supported by experienced Ophthalmology Technicians and support staff along with a Client Service Coordinator specific to the department for directing client and referral communication as well as scheduling.

Additional current equipment includes: 1.5 Tesla MRI, 64 slice CT scanner, fluoroscopy suite, digital x-ray, 4 high-quality ultrasound units, underwater treadmill, multi-parameter telemetry, endoscopy suite, multiple surgical suites, full diagnostic laboratory, and in-house pharmacy.

The position offers a base salary of $150,000-$200,000 and is eligible for production bonus based on gross revenues. Additionally, UVS offers a competitive benefits package and buy-in opportunity for the individuals that share our practice philosophy and commitment to our mission.
