UVS IS SEEKING A FOURTH CARDIOLOGIST
Upstate Veterinary Specialties, PLLC is a leader in comprehensive specialty and emergency healthcare for pets. We are located in upstate New York and seeking a fourth cardiologist to join our team.
UVS is a privately-owned specialty and emergency practice with a large team of dedicated professionals. Our newest cardiologist will join a collegial team of board certified specialists in cardiology (3), critical care (1), internal medicine (2), neurology (2), ophthalmology (2), oncology (1), radiology (1), rehabilitation (1), and surgery (2). In addition, staff are supported by highly educated licensed veterinary technicians, including one VTS (cardiology), assistants, client relations, and administrative staff.
Our emergency service is supported by seven emergency clinicians, LVTs, assistants, and client relations staff and includes diagnostic ultrasound, critical care cages, full in-house laboratory, and a blood bank.
Our newly-built custom 23,000 square foot facility has designated cardiology spaces and a large cardiac catheterization lab. Our hospital also includes a 1.5T MRI, 64 slice CT scanner, digital x-ray, underwater treadmill, endoscopy suite, multiple surgery suites, full diagnostic laboratory, and in-house pharmacy. Our current cardiology inventory includes:
- 1 Philips ultrasound unit (Epic 5C)
- 2 Siemens ultrasound units (Sequoia)
- GE Vivid I mobile ultrasound unit
- Transesophageal echo
- OEC 9600 C-arm fluoroscope in large catheterization lab
- Holter/event recorders with on-site analysis
Our substantial caseload has been growing since our inception in 2003 and continues to increase each year. From 2015 to 2016, UVS experienced a 25% increase in new cardiology consultations. We are looking for a flexible team-player to balance the workload and contribute their expertise to our hospital. Coupled with our additional specialties and emergency department, UVS is the number one place to practice high-quality cardiology in the tri-state area.
UVS is located in Latham, NY, which is considered part of upstate New York’s ‘Tri-City’ area. The position offers a base salary, plus percentage of gross profit. In addition, UVS offers a competitive compensation package and buy-in opportunity for the right individual.
