Referring Veterinarian Tours with UVS Doctors
February 29th, 2016 | Posted in General, Our New Hospital
Over 60 members of the Capital Region referring veterinary community: veterinarians, technicians, hospital managers and other staff members attended guided tours of the new Upstate Veterinary Specialties hospital on Sunday, February 21, 2016.
Many of the veterinarians and management staff from UVS were present at the event, leading our veterinary colleagues on tours throughout the building. The tours kicked off in the building’s second floor with light refreshments, a slide show of the hospital’s construction process and a bird’s eye view of the UVS treatment and ICU areas. The tour then proceeded throughout the 23,000 square foot hospital. Some areas of interest to our general practice colleagues included the main treatment area, ICU and various procedure rooms. Because the tours were conducted on a Sunday, when no surgical procedures were scheduled, we were also able to walk through the sterile corridor and view the four operating rooms and interventional cardiology room.
Giving our colleagues an “insider’s” perspective to UVS is a very important way of sharing how UVS specialists can help our mutual patients (and clients).
