Dr. Ashleigh Cournoyer received her Bachelor of Science in Pathobiology and Veterinary/Animal Sciences from University of Connecticut in 2013 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Following her Doctorate, Dr. Cournoyer completed a one-year small animal rotating internship with Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C. Continuing to pursue her passion, Dr. Cournoyer completed an oncology specialty internship with Ethos Veterinary Health in Leesburg, VA, followed by an oncology clinical trials internship with University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Cournoyer continued with University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Hospital for a three-year medical oncology residency. Dr. Cournoyer became board-certified in Oncology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2023. Dr. Cournoyer enjoys all aspects of comparative oncology, with a primary interest in osteosarcoma and hematopoietic malignancies. Dr. Cournoyer is a member of the Veterinary Cancer Society and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
Ashleigh lives with her husband and two dogs, Ruby and Ellie. Together, they enjoy hiking and backpacking. In her spare time, Ashleigh enjoys gardening, yoga, and reading.
