Dr. Alexander Briggs received his Bachelor of Biological Sciences from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY, in 2017 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University, College of Veterinary Medicine in Harrogate, TN, in 2021. Dr. Briggs was the recipient of the 2021 American College of Veterinary Radiology and American College of Veterinary Pathologists Student Awards. He is a proud member of the LMU Alpha Theta Chapter of the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society.
In his clinical year of veterinary school, Dr. Briggs completed a Diagnostic Imaging externship with Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital and an Internal Medicine externship with Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas. As a Research Assistant with the University of Kentucky Veterinary Diagnostic Lab, he conducted a research project entitled “Pathology and Emergence of Cytauxzoon felis in the Southeastern US.”
In 2022, Dr. Briggs completed a small animal rotating internship in Medicine and Surgery at Texas A&M University, where he received clinical experiences in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, and Anesthesia. Dr. Briggs’ special interests include point-of-care ultrasound, emergency treatment of cardio-pulmonary emergencies, and aiding clients in medical decision-making.
As a native of Upstate New York, Dr. Briggs is happy to be local again and provide veterinary care in his home state and surrounding areas. He enjoys kayaking, traveling, and creating new recipes in his spare time. He has one rescued tuxedo cat named Lenny.
