July 21st, 2015 | Posted in Meet the UVS Team
Colleen Dunn, LVT joined the Internal Medicine service at Upstate Veterinary Specialties (UVS) in March 2015 after working for many years in general practice as a veterinary technician. Upon joining the team at UVS, Colleen excitedly welcomed opportunities to delve deeper into the medical care that she had learned of in general practice. Her love of learning has made her a welcome addition to a hospital whose doctors and staff are also invested in both teaching and learning. Colleen believes that an engaged team leads to excellent patient care.
After graduating from the veterinary technology program at SUNY Delhi, she began working with a small animal general practice in 1990. During her years working with a family veterinary practice, Colleen became a proponent of good client education and communication and teamwork among veterinary professionals.
Colleen has always loved animals and known that she wanted to work with animals. Her household includes 2 cats, “Fuji” and “Tee,” and a Welsh Corgi named “Bug.”
Colleen and the other members of the Internal Medicine team currently work closely with Dr. Sara Arnold and excitedly await the growth of their department when our second internist, Dr. Danielle Davignon, joins the group on August 10.
Just as many other departments at UVS, the Internal Medicine team often collaborates with other groups at UVS from radiology to surgery or oncology, as the patient’s condition requires. One of the unique features of Upstate Veterinary Specialties in Latham, NY is the collaborative climate of our multi-specialty veterinary hospital, which draws together the years of experience in a variety of fields.
